DAR ES SALAAM.
The first vice president of Zanzibar, H.E Othman Masoud Othman has said that the participation of women and young people at various levels, including representative positions, is one of the most important steps that will stimulate the success of businesses run by the group in Africa.
Hon. Othman speaking that on 14th, September, 2022 in Dar es Salaam when he was representing the President of Zanzibar and the Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi while closing the Conference of Women and Youth in Business under the African Free Trade Zone Agreement.
He has said that it is his belief that in the three days of the meeting they have been able to discuss together how to solve the challenges facing women and young people in Africa that will help them do Business in a suitable environment.
In addition, he has said that he expects to see all the resolutions reached in the discussions they held will be worked on by the AfCFTA Secretariat in consultation with the member countries.
“These resolutions will be the basis and will encourage the participation of more women and young people in various business activities in the African continent and in the world in general”
“It is also my hope that in this meeting specific recommendations have been found that will help in the preparation of a protocol for women and youth which is expected to raise women and youth in Business under the African Free Trade Zone”
In other steps Hon. Othman has congratulated and thanked all African countries for the great honor they have given Tanzania and trust the President of the United Republic of Tanzania Hon. Samia Suluhu Hassan and appointed to be a Leader and Motivator of women and youth in Africa Business.
“I assure you that you were not mistaken in believing that Hon. President Samia will carry out with great competence the role of motivating women and young people in Business in Africa because he has influence and experience in matters of Development” he said.
